Last week we honored the life of our friend, Kiel Lampman. Kiel’s siblings and some of his classmates helped to plant a forsythia bush and placed a plaque in our pollinator garden to remember Kiel and his incredibly brave battle!

Tomorrow night is our Annual Night of Wonder! Come down between 6-7:30 to check our our STEM projects!

Kindergarten - Studied the effects of the sun & engineered shade structures for a solar animal which blocks the sun and prevents the solar beads on the animal from turning colors.
1st Grade - Students are creating animals based on adaptations they've studied of animals in nature.
2nd grade - Has engineered dams after studying how beavers construct dams.
3rd grade - Third grade combined their study of chicken embryology with the study of severe weather conditions & natural disasters by creating chicken coups that could withstand one of these events.
4th grade - Grade 4 : Mission to Mars; Students have imagined and built a model of how to colonize Mars. Challenges of extreme temperatures, no oxygen in the limited atmosphere, toxic soil, frozen water, reduced solar energy coupled with dangerous solar radiation have to be overcome. Come and see their ideas for clothing, housing, growing and cooking food, transportation and capturing oxygen from water.
5th grade - Designed playground structures with our front playground in mind! They made prototypes, tested, redesigned, built to scale, made them aesthetically pleasing, kid-friendly, and even created blueprints for their designs!
6th grade - Will be doing hydraulic demonstrations. The students have been experimenting with the compression of fluids and their ability to do work.

Warren L. Miller Elementary shared Tioga County Partnership for Community Health's post.

Today, our Safe Kids Tioga group, represented by Safe Kids Coordinator McKenna Light, was honored to present children’s bike helmets to the Tioga County PA Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff’s Dept. will be giving them out to kids during the bike rodeo they’ll be hosting at the Blossburg State Coal Festival. A great way to encourage safety this summer!
