CHILD NEED SUPPORT?

If you are concerned about your child's or a student's speech and language process, please email me, Colleen Brenneman and I will do a screening on the student. This usually entails me speaking with the child individually or in a small group setting and comparing the syntax (grammar), vocabulary, speech production, and auditory comprehension against the milestones and standards for their age. If I believe some support would be necessary or helpful, I would contact the parent as their child being considered as "at risk" developmentally in the areas of speech and/or language. At that time I would recommend pull out support in a small group once or twice a week where we would work on goals that we agree upon. Progress is monitored and charted for every 9 week period, or end of marking period whichever comes first. At that time, either continued support or dismissal from the program is recommended. A permission form is signed by parents before I begin working with any student and a copy of the goal page is sent home. At the 9 week or marking period, a graph of progress on these goals is sent home.
