LAPAT Minutes
April 12, 2010

President Cathleen Alexander called the meeting to order at 3:25. In attendance were Cathleen Alexander (president), Carolyn Moyer (treasurer), Mya Sawyer (vice president), Lisa Williams (secretary).Stacy Gerrity, Diane Gonzalez, Sonja Yeager, and Staci Jelliff, and Ellen Reed.
Carolyn gave the treasurer’s report. There is a balance of 15,889.62.
Old Business:
The Mobile Ag. Ed. Lab is going to be scheduled for a week in the fall. Two possible dates: week of October 25 or week of November 15.
Wolfgang sale is complete and items were sent home for delivery. A profit of $5098.77 was made. Top selling classes were 2-G and 4-A. They will get a party of their choice. The top seller was Cory Sponenberg.
LAPAT is not providing a PSSA treat for students as they are provided field trip rewards with school funds.
TV turn-off week is the week of April 26-30. A subcommittee will work on a theme and details.
LAPAT has started a list of names of volunteers for Volunteer Appreciation. If you know anyone who gave time for a LAPAT cause, please submit their name.
Staff appreciation will be held the second week of May after student teachers have finished. Kelly Kelly will be contacted about catering the event and parents will provide desserts.
Lori Nelson will be asked to do table decorations.
New Business:
Recruiting for LAPAT members at Kindercamp was discussed.
Continuance of pins for character awards was questioned because they are made by hand. Sonja, Ellen and Staci Jelliff volunteered to make them because the kids are so proud of receiving them.
Requests:
Girls on the Move requested money to buy shirts for members.
Money was requested to fund the kindergarten field trip to Animal Land.
A request to purchase carnations for all students, and 2 - $50.00 savings bonds was made by the 6th grade for graduation.
Meeting was adjourned at 4:00. Next meeting is May 3, 2010.
