Ms. McCarthy has been teaching 5th grade at Liberty Elementary for seven years. Prior to that she was a Title I reading  teacher in the same building for seven years.

She teaches science to 5th and 6th grades. She teaches reading to both 5th grade classes, and social studies to her own homeroom.

Ms. McCarthy has two adult daughters. One lives in Colorado and the other lives in Alaska.

Ms. McCarthy's interests include travel, singing with her friends, hiking, biking, kayaking, gardening and anything that gets her outside in the fresh air. Be prepared to go outside for recess every day if it's not raining!

She loves animals and has two cats at home named Petey and Osiris (aka Little Kitty).
