The North Penn High School Jazz Ensemble is in it's first year of full-time existence this year, and is excited to be performing at several community and regional events throughout the Spring of 2008. The ensemble is open to experienced musicians in grades 7-12 and follows a traditional jazz band setup, focusing on learning improvisation skills through a variety of jazz styles including swing, funk, latin and rock styles. The ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Jon Ruth.

The Bloss Big Band is already planning performances at the Tioga County Music In Motion Festival on Saturday, March 15 at Mansfield University's Decker Gymnasium, the North Penn HS Spring Band Concert on April 30th, and the Blossburg Coal Festival on Memorial Day Weekend. Their stage show features a variety of styles and genres.
