The Southern Tioga School District is dedicated to providing a rigorous academic education for all students. The school district's curriculum is aligned to state standards developed in reading, writing, speaking, & listening; mathematics; science (Environment & Ecology and Science & Technology); social studies (Civics & Government, History, Economics, and Geography); arts & humanities; career education & work; family & consumer sciences; and health, education, & physical education. The Pennsylvania Department of Education has developed curriculum standards for K-12 schools.  Where applicable, these standards are aligned to the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) through a system of assessment anchors.  Standards are used to help guide teachers, students and parents to objectives related to specific courses throughout the educational curriculum.
