L.A.P.A.T MINUTES
April 3, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Sign In: In attendance were President Cathleen Alexander, Vice President Wendy Fetzer, Treasurer Carolyn Moyer, Co-Secretaries, Norleen Hardy and Mya Sawyer, teacher Mrs. Lisa Williams, and parent, Lisa Cendoma.
Welcome: Cathleen Alexander called the Meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
Secretary’s Report: Wendy Fetzer read the minutes from March. They were approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance for Checking is $8,018.36; Savings $7,481.30; with a Total of $15,490.66. We have several requests that will need to be paid including the kindergarten, second grade and gifted field trips. Other field trips will be funded as the bills are submitted. We are also buying books for the library in honor of teacher and staff birthdays. The books will correspond with the new reading series.
Old Business:
PSSA Snacks: On Friday, April 11, 2008, LAPAT will hand out ice cream sandwiches. If anyone is interested in helping, please contact Cathleen or Carolyn.
TV Turn-off Week: Mrs. Knipe is getting the Student Council involved. The student council will plan activities for each day and will host an invention convention with creations to be on display.
Volunteer Appreciation Names: See Cathleen Alexander for list
Staff Appreciation: We discussed having a Lunch on Thursday, May 22, 2008; if anyone is interested we need help baking, setting-up and serving. Kindly contact Cathleen or Carolyn (See Buzz Book for #).
New Business:
Fundraising Coordinator: Lisa Cendoma volunteered to be next year’s Fundraising Coordinator. Any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact her.
LAPAT Drawing: It was discussed again how to get more people involved in LAPAT and their meetings. The idea of having a drawing for a $ amount was brought up. This may get people’s attention. More information will be coming home soon.
Blockhouse Festival: Carolyn Moyer brought up that she has a Play Station 3 valued at $700.00 that was donated by First Citizens Bank to be used as a fundraiser for LAPAT. Tickets will be sold with a suggested donation for $3.00 each or 10 for $5.00. More information will be coming home soon.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:00, motion to adjourn by Wendy Fetzer and second by Lisa Cendoma.
