LAPAT Minutes

April 9, 2009

President Cathleen Alexander called the meeting to order. In attendance were Cathleen Alexander (president), Carolyn Moyer (treasurer), and Lisa Williams’s parent/teacher.

 

Carolyn gave the treasurer’s report. There is a balance of $19,952.46. The Wolfgang bill is yet to be paid.

 

Old Business:

 

There was discussion about the North Penn High construction options, April school board meeting citizen participation and what actions could be taken in the future.

 

Wolfgang orders have been delivered. The bill has yet to be adjusted to show returns and exchanges. Then it will be paid.

 

Turn-Off TV week will be April 27- May 1st. The theme this year will be: BE THE STAR IN YOUR OWN SHOW, LET YOUR GOOD CHARACTER FLOW. A calendar with a character trait focus and related activity will be sent home with students. Prizes of magazine subscriptions will be awarded to a student in grade K-1, 2-3, and 4, 5, 6.

 

Amy Cavanugh, teacher, looked into the price of a Cricut paper cutter for bulletin boards. The price at WalMart is $380 and a cartridge $50. Comparison prices at other vendors will be looked into before voting on the purchase of a Cricut.

 

New Business:

 

Popsicles will be purchased for field day.

 

Plans for the staff appreciation dinner began in earnest. Kelly Kelly will be contacted to cater the event. Desserts will be provided by volunteer parents. If you wish to donate please contact a LAPAT member.
